Why is it so difficult for some people to do what they say they will? I went shopping with friends today and stopped in to see my husband at work on my way home and take him a coffee... he had been planning to go out with a friend of his after work but told me he didn't know if the plans may have fallen through. As I was leaving, I asked if he'd call me when he got out of work and let me know what his plans were... he said he would, gave me a kiss, and off I went...
Now, here I sit, nearly 3 hours after his work day ended and I've yet to receive a phone call... I can only assume he is with his friend as initially planned because he hasn't called like he said he would and his cell phone isn't on so it goes straight to voicemail when I try to call him...
I have no issue with his taking an evening to spend with his friend... I'm glad that he has friends to spend the occasional evening with... What I do have an issue with is not receiving a phone call when I was told I would... and having to answer "I don't know," when the kids ask me where Daddy is and what time he's going to be home.
