Christmas is approaching far too quickly this year!!! We've still not finished shopping and have yet to put up a tree or wrap a single gift. The weather here isn't doing much to motivate me... the only thing worse than having temperatures in the single digit range is having temperatures in the negative range! We're currently experiencing both of those...it was below zero last night and is about 9 degrees this morning...at this rate, 30 degrees would feel like spring to me!
I checked the grade books for my classes this morning...I have a 100 in math! Granted, there are only 5 assignments in so far, but for a girl who never received anything higher than an 85 or 90 in a math class, this is a pretty huge victory. Even more so because as a Freshman in high school, I was told by my algebra teacher when I stayed after school for extra help that I was stupid.
I'm having a little trouble concentrating today. This is a fairly common trend in my life and one that makes me question the decision I made to stop taking medication to treat my ADD. Maybe once the holiday season has passed, I'll discuss the issue with my doctor again and see what options are available. Perhaps this would make a good topic for my final project in Comp II... Adult ADD and the treatment options available?
I too struggled in high school with math. Many, many early morning tutoring sessions left me feeling stupid, however a teacher never called me that. How disappointing to know that a teacher would stoop so low and call a child stupid! Way to go on your current grade!! You should be very proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteWisconsin is experiencing sub O temperatures right now and after getting dumped with 16+ inches of snow, the temperature is making it difficult to use ice melt.
Adult ADD and the treatment options would be a great topic for your paper. You should go with it!
Best of luck to you in everything you do!

Hi Tatum,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the math grade. I do think you have a topic to explore!
Thank you both! I appreciate the support more than you know!
ReplyDeleteMisty, I do not envy you the sub-zero temps & 16 inches of snow...with every passing year I find it more difficult to tolerate the winter months! I just keep promising myself that when my both kids are grown (about 10 years from now)I will spend the winters somewhere warmer! :)
